Abstract

Background: Emergency unit is one of the basic aspects of giving service to patients and the staff participation can help improve quality management service giving aspect. The purpose of this study was determined relation between level of staffs participation and
emergency performance in educational hospitals of Kermanshah.
Methods: The study implemented by descriptive cross-sectional that its statistical community was performed 140 emergency unit staffs in educational hospitals in Kermanshah, Iran. They completed participation measurement questionnaire and emergency unit performance measurement checklist. At end description of staffs
participation and hospital emergency unit performance presented by descriptive tables and relationship between participation level and demographic variables and units performance analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient, X2 and ANOVA using SPSS 15 software.
Results: Finding of this study showed 62.6% of subjects were women and rest of them was men. Total mean age for them was 31.92±7.39. Participation rate men higher than women and few rate had low participation, however, this different wasn’t statistically significant.
More than 60% of them had high level of participation but there wasn’t significant difference between units.
Conclusion: However the relationship between personals participation and emergency unit performance was positive but this relation wasn’t meaningful, as statistical analysis, we suggest it should be carried out more study with large sample.
