Abstract

Abstract Background: CBC is one of the most useful and prevalent test which is applied by physicians. The diagnosis of abnormal hematologic value depends on determination of normal measure. Objective: To determine normal values of hematologic indexes in normal young adults. Methods: From 534 male and female cases who intended to get married, 250 males and 250 females, were randomly selected. The data were processed by SPSS program to determine typical blood value of blood indexes. Findings: Mean, median, mode, SD, SE and a distribution curve for each parameter were obtained. The mean and normal range of MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW and platelets in both sexes were either identical or very close to each other. Conclusion: Normal value and mean of hematologic indexes were very similar to previous studies and no significant difference was found between them.
