Abstract

Background: Most important consequences of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are Restoration functions of the heart and lung. Despite abundant advances in medical sciences, the prognosis remains poor for patients who have CPR. This study was done to
determine the success rate of CPR in patients with cardiopulmonary arrest during a six months training in selected health centers were studied in Kermanshah in 2011-2012.

Methods: In this prospective study 320 samples were selected with the use of purposive sampling method. The researcher made Information form was used for data gathering whose face and content validity and Kappa coefficient reliability r= 0.79. Data were analyzed with STATA9 software and statistical tests such as, relative risk (RR) and successfully revived Poll, chi-square test and Fisher Accurate.

Results: The initial success rate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation were 15.3%, final (discharged live from the hospital) 10.6 and six months of successful CPR 8.12 percent. There was no Significant difference in the success rate of initial resuscitation statistically
significant deference in different age categories, But the amount successful initial resuscitation patients were higher in morning (P=0.02).

Conclusion: The results showed that the initial success rate of CPR inside and outside the country, especially on the night shift toward lower levels, however patient survival at six months is an acceptable level. According to this study finding suggested appropriate
distribution of the Medical team in all shifts were done to successfully CPR and exactly flow- up after Successful resuscitation and hospital discharge were done.
