Aims and Scope
Journal of Motor Control and Learning is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research on human movement, motor behavior, skill acquisition, and movement-related rehabilitation. The journal welcomes studies that investigate the neural, biomechanical, cognitive, behavioral, and psychological mechanisms underlying movement control, motor learning, adaptation, performance, and recovery.
The journal’s scope includes, but is not limited to:
Motor Control
Research on the planning, regulation, coordination, and execution of voluntary and automatic movement across healthy, athletic, developmental, aging, and clinical populations.
Motor Learning and Skill Acquisition
Studies examining how motor skills are acquired, retained, adapted, transferred, and optimized through practice, feedback, training, and experience.
Cognitive Neuroscience of Movement
Investigations of the neural and cognitive processes involved in movement planning, sensorimotor integration, attention, perception, decision-making, and motor behavior.
Biomechanics and Movement Science
Research on the mechanical, kinematic, kinetic, and neuromuscular characteristics of human movement, posture, balance, gait, coordination, and performance.
Rehabilitation and Motor Recovery
Studies focused on assessment, intervention, neuroplasticity, functional recovery, and rehabilitation strategies for individuals with neurological, musculoskeletal, developmental, or movement-related disorders.
Sport Psychology and Human Performance
Research on psychological, cognitive, and behavioral factors influencing motor performance, skill execution, motivation, confidence, fatigue, stress, and performance optimization.
Motor Development and Aging
