The Middle East Journal of Rehabilitation and Health Studies (MEJRH) is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing research on rehabilitation sciences, mental and behavioral health, and health studies that improve functioning, independence, participation, and quality of life.

MEJRH welcomes manuscripts of high scientific quality that are novel, methodologically rigorous, and clinically meaningful, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary and translational research that bridges rehabilitation, mental health, clinical practice, and public health, and informs evidence-based practice and policy. The journal is written for rehabilitation professionals, allied health and mental health clinicians, public health practitioners, researchers, educators, and students.

MEJRH is international in authorship and readership, with particular interest in research addressing the rehabilitation and health needs of populations in the Middle East and comparable settings. Submissions are welcome from all regions, and the geographic origin of a manuscript is not a criterion in editorial decisions.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

• Rehabilitation Sciences: Physical, occupational, vocational, neurological, musculoskeletal, psychosocial, and community-based rehabilitation across the lifespan (including pediatric and geriatric populations); disability, functioning and participation, and quality-of-life research; assistive technologies and rehabilitation engineering; and exercise, sports, and movement rehabilitation.
• Communication and Sensory Rehabilitation: Speech and language rehabilitation, audiology and hearing sciences, communication disorders, and swallowing disorders (dysphagia) and their therapeutic management.
• Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences: Clinical, rehabilitation, and health psychology; psychosocial adjustment and coping in chronic illness and disability; mental health literacy, help-seeking, and stigma; and behavioral and psychological interventions.
• Health Promotion and Public Health: Health education and promotion, disease prevention, behavioral and lifestyle interventions, and community- and population-based health research with relevance to rehabilitation and health outcomes.
• Clinical and Applied Health Sciences: Allied health sciences, interdisciplinary and patient-centered care, functional assessment and outcome measurement, health services research and healthcare delivery, and clinical studies with direct relevance to functioning, recovery, and rehabilitation outcomes.

Manuscripts that fall outside this scope are declined at initial screening. MEJRH does not consider work that has already been published or that is under consideration elsewhere; redundant or duplicate publication is not permitted.
