3.2. Histopathological Assessment
A and B, In the sham group, some types of follicles, corpus luteum, and atretic foliclles are observed. C and D, In the SCI group (14th day after SCI), types of follicles are observed and atretic foliclles increased, also heterogeneous and stromal congestion including inflamatory cells are abvious. E and F, In the SCI group (21th day after SCI), types of degenerative follicles and stromal congestion are observed, also increase of inflammatory cells and heterogeneous stroma are observed. 3.3. Histomorphometric Assessment
Chronic SCI significantly decreased diameter of follicles (A) and oocytes (B) and also decreased thickness of granulosa layer (C), theca interna (D) and zona pellucida (E), especially on the 14th and 21st days after surgery. Data are expressed as the Mean ± SEM.
