Abstract

Background: Good mental health is important for individuals as well as for society. At individual level, good mental health enables person to realize their intellectual and emotional potential and to find and fulfill their roles in social, school and working life. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and personality type with mental health in commandos.
Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted among 100 selected commandos by random cluster sampling. Mental health Questionnaire (GHQ28), and job satisfaction and personality type questionnaire were used. For data analysis the pearson’s correlation and regression tests were used.
Results: Results showed the meaningful relation between mental health with job satisfaction and personality type. B type and job satisfaction were great predictors of mental health.
Conclusion: The result showed it possible to teach skills and provide increased employment opportunities in mental health.
