Abstract
High quality MR images and good reports are essential in many shoulder diseases. Common shoulder diseases are rotator cuff pathologies (from impingement to cuff tear arthropathy), instabilities and SLAP lesion. In cuff pathologies, we need to know about type, location and size of the tear, severity of muscles atrophy, fatty degeneration, type of acromion, severity of ACJ degeneration and its undersurface spurs, subchondral cysts in head, and accompanying SLAP lesion. In instabilities, we need to know about type, location and extension of labral tears, presence or absence of glenoid rim fracture or erosion, Hill-Sachs lesion and accompanying cuff pathologies. In this lecture, we discuss some problems that we encountered in the diagnosis of common shoulder diseases where high quality MRI, and good reports are instrumental.
