Abstract

Background: Precise data recording in mother and child health care sheets can be beneficial to epidemiologic purposes. Objective: To determine the quality of data recorded in health sheets. Methods: In a descriptive study, through a two-stage sampling selection, recorded data in mother and child health sheets (10 kinds) in 400 family files of 19 health posts in Isfahan was studied. Expected filling frequency and observed filling frequency were evaluated and analyzed by statistical methods. Findings: Maximum of recorded data was observed in vaccination forms (95.7%). Confidence interval (0.99) for the proportion of recorded data was 61.5%±6.1% in all data sheets. The proportion of recorded data was different in health posts (P<0.005). Recorded data in mother care sheets was less than child ones (P<0.001). Conclusion: According to the findings, more controlled activities of health staff and also some kind of revise in health sheets seems to be necessary and important.
