A report on mandibular resection due to Ameloblastoma
Ameloblastoma is the most common odontogenic tumor and is treatment includes radical surgery of the region. Radical surgery causes major defects in mandible, so reconstruction of the surgery to deliver the natural function of the organ seems to be necessary. Jaw reconstruction in ameloblastoma surgery is often done simultaneous to or sometimes after the primary treatment of the tumor and reassurance to the lack of recurrence. Usage of miniplates is much better than macroplates due to their delicasy and their better compatibility with tissues. In this case report, the usage of miniplates in a patient with unicystic ameloblastoma has been examined.
