Abstract

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate and compare the clients’ satisfaction about Opportunities of speech therapy services provided by educational centers of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: In this cross-sectional comparative study, 210 subjects were randomly selected from clients referring to one of the seven speech therapy clinics of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences. The data were collected by a structured questionnaire used in a face to face interview or in a phone call and the level of clients’ satisfaction was calculated on a 0 to 100 point scale. By using SPSS-15, Chi-square test and One-way ANOVA test were applied to analyze the data.
Results: The mean score of general clients’ satisfaction of seven speech therapy clinics of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences were 62.2±3.6, 73.9±4.7, 80.6±4.2, 64.1±6.1, 70.5±7.9, 70.3±6.1 and 69.6±5.3. Regardless of satisfaction with physical conditions (P=0.067), significant difference was observed among seven speech therapy clinics regarding satisfaction with other studied variables (P<0.05).
Conclusion: In clients’ viewpoints, Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences was provided the same physical conditions in seven speech therapy clinics. However, the difference in client’s satisfaction with other studied clinical parameters may show the necessity for revision of current conditions.
