Abstract

 Introduction: The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of substance abuse and its relationship to cigarette smoking in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences students, using Hidden Sensitivity model of study. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 1512 students from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, who were concerned for cigarette smoking and drug abuse, were participated at Hidden Sensitivity Model survey. R and Excel software was used for analyzing the data. Results: The lifetime prevalence of drug abuse in 6.67% (95% CI 5.41-7.92) of students was various sorts of substance abuse and in 8.39% (6.99-9.78) of them was opium. Opium consumption was more prevalence in men than women. The prevalence of substance abuse and opium consumption were 4.49% (3.44-5.53) and 6.61% (5.35-7.86), respectively during previous month.
