Abstract

Introduction: Maintaining physical and mental health of mothers plays an important role in health of family and society. Fear of childbirth and increase of caesarean section, has negative effects on pregnant women. The aim of this study was to study effectiveness of midwifery counseling based on solution-focused approaches on fear of childbirth. Materials and Methods: This clinical trial was conducted on 60 pregnant women at week 22-30, who had fear of childbirth and choice cesarean section, in 2016.  The women were divided in two groups by randomization intervention groups (Solution-focused counseling: 6-session) and control group (routine care). Before and after intervention, a questionnaire including demographic and midwifery information, performance and W-DEQ questionnaire was completed.
