Abstract

Introduction: The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of six -week aerobic exercise with moderate intensity and consumption of nanocurcumin on TNF-α and memory in 60-65 years old women with syndrome metabolic. Materials and Methods: 44 women with metabolic syndrome voluntarily took part in the present study. Correspondingly, participants were randomly divided in 4 groups: Control, Exercise, Curcumin, and Exercise + Curcumin. Exercise training consisted of three sets of twelve-minute aerobic exercise training on a treadmill with 5 minute rest between the sets. One minute was added to the duration of exercise sets in each week. Blood samples were conducted before and after six -week. TNF-α level was measured by ELISA method and memory test were conduct with picture recall test. Results: In comparison with the control group, following eight-week interventions TNF-α significantly decreased (P≤0.05) and memory recall significantly increased (P≤0.05) all treated groups. Moroner, these changes were significantly higher in the Exercise + Curcumin group than other treated groups. Conclusion: This study showed six-week interventions lead to increased memory recall. This may be due to a decline in TNF-α levels and improvement of metabolic syndrome.
