Correspondigly, some studies indicated that the acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is effective on improving physical and mental health in patients with chronic illnesses. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on subjective well-bing in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Materials and Methods: Current study was a randomized clinical trial with pretest, posttest and follow up, which conducted on 22 patients undergoing hemodialysis in Kosar Hospital of Semnan (Iran). Data was collected by Questionnaire of subjective-well-being. Results: There was significant statistical differences between two groups in the subscales of psychological well-bing (p = 0.001) and social well-bing(p = 0.017). Conclusion: According to the results, it is recommended to the use of ACT as an effective and complementary psychological intervention alongside with medical therapy to improve the subjective-well-being of hemodialysis patients.
