Artificial Intelligence Disclosure in Published Articles

Last Update: 30 November, 2025 | 15:52

From December 10, 2025, all Brieflands articles will include a dedicated footnote disclosing any use of AI tools in their preparation. This note will specify which AI tools were used, in which parts of the article, and to what extent, to ensure full transparency for readers.

Beginning December 10, 2025, Brieflands will implement a mandatory transparency feature in all published articles to ensure clarity regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) during manuscript preparation. To uphold research integrity and provide readers with full insight into the development of each publication, a new section will be added to the Footnotes of every article.

AI Disclosure in Article Footnotes

Starting from the effective date, each published paper will include a dedicated footnote stating:

  • Whether AI tools were used in preparing the article
  • Which AI tool(s) were employed
  • The specific sections or components where AI assistance was applied (e.g., idea development, figure creation, text editing, reference generation)
  • The extent of AI contribution, clearly indicating whether the use was minimal (e.g., minor language polishing), moderate (e.g., figure refinement), or substantial (e.g., major text editing or conceptual assistance)

This disclosure requirement ensures complete transparency for readers, reviewers, and editors, and reinforces Brieflands’ commitment to ethical publishing standards in an evolving digital and AI-driven scholarly environment.
