Abstract

Introduction: the observance of patients' rights is a legal principal and is one of the main responsibilities of health care centers. This study aimed to survey hospitalized patients
satisfaction in this regard.
Methods: Five hundred hospitalized patients and their families were selected by quota sampling from educational hospitals of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences (KUMS). The data were gathered by researcher-constructed questionnaire through
interviewing by participants. The data were analyzed by SPSS version 18 software.
Results: The satisfaction levels of the participants according to the five domains of questionnaire were 40.7, 60, 53.5, 80.1, and 55 percent respectively. Overall patients' satisfaction was 55.5 percent. There was not statistically significant relation between
some of the participants' demographics (e.g. gender, marital status, residence, and literacy level) and participant's satisfaction, while there was statistically significant relationship between the participant's age and history of hospitalization and their satisfaction.
Conclusion: The findings showed intermediate level of satisfaction among the study participants according to observing of patient's rights in our health care centers. Therefore, it seems essential that the educational program be implemented for health care providers for promoting their commitment in this regard.
