Abstract

Background: Finding simple, lowcost and safe method for tubal ligation is very important. Objective: To determine the early complications (up to one week after operation) and duration of operation and hospitalization in both methods. Methods: In a randomized clinical trail, 20 patients using filshie-clips for tubal ligation and 20 other patients using bipolar electrocoagulation were studied. Then the duration of surgury and hospitalization of both methods and their early complications were compared. Findings: The duration of operation and hospitalization was less in patients who used filshie-clips (duration of hospitalization 5.6 ×2.08 VS. 12.5 ×14.66 hours and operation 6.5 ×2.61 VS. 13 ×2.76 mins.). Early complications were the same. Conclusion: Using filshie-clips for tubal ligation is easier and safer than bipolar electrocoagulation.
