Ultrasonographic evaluation of the fetal genitourinary tract in Kosar Hospital of Qazvin
Background: The genitourinary tract abnormalities are the most common fetal malformations. Objective: To evaluate and determine prenatal urogenital malformations in Kosar Hospital of Qazvin. Methods: Prospective and follow up study of 3438 pregnant women from 20th gestational week were evaluated during 1994 to 1996. Findings: Organ malformations were detectable in 51 cases (1.5%) in which 26 of these abnormalities (50.98%) were related to urogenital malformations. Hydronephrosis was the most common malformation (84.62%). Conclusion: Ultrasonography is a useful method for evaluation and diagnosis of fetal urogenital malformations.
