Distribution and trematodes larval infections of Bulinus truncatus
Background: Some parts of Khoozestan province were identified as the center of schistosomiosis and habitats of snail vector, Bulinus truncatus. Objective: To determine the transmission of disease and some other trematodes larval infection of the snail. Methods: Two methods were used to identify the infection: 1) crushing the snails 2) cercarial shedding. Findings: In this research, two furcocercariae of strigea were found but no trace of schistosoma cercariae was seen. Conclusion: Owing to the risk of transmission of this disease and some other trematodes larval infections, preventive steps should be taken for people at risk.
