Abstract

Background: Nowadays, 20% of workers are suffering from a kind of mental depression and 30% of their absences are mental-based. Objective: To determine the effect of worknoise on the depression of factory-workers and office-workers. Methods: First, the average sound pressure in workshops of two factories was measured by Cel audiometer machine. Then the subjects were tested based by on Back depression test. Findings: The results indicated that the average depression score in factory-workers (20.85 ×7.5) and office-workers (12.3 ×4.9) had a meaningful difference. Conclusion: The workers exposed to worknoise (higher than standard noise) are susceptible to have metal disorders especially slight depression.
