In Press Articles

What is In-Press Articles?

In Press articles are accepted, peer reviewed articles that are not yet assigned to a volume/issue, but are citable using DOI.

Articles in Press are peer-reviewed, accepted articles to be published in one of the Brieflands journals. When the final article is assigned to volumes/issues of the publication, the "in Press" version will be removed, and the final version will appear in the associated published volume/issue. Please be aware that, although Articles in Press do not have all bibliographic details available yet, they can already be cited using the year of online publication and the DOI, as follows: author(s), article title, journal (year), DOI.

Articles in this section may alter or edit partially or entirely by the editorial board (even withdraw/retract).

There are four types of "In Press" articles:

Accepted manuscripts:

Articles that have been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication by the Editorial Board. They have not yet been copy edited and /or formatted in the publication house style, and may not yet have full functionality, e.g., supplementary files may still need to be added, links to references may not resolve yet, etc.

Uncorrected proofs:

Articles that have been copy-edited and formatted but have not been finalized yet. They still need to be proofread and corrected by the author(s) and the managing editors, and the text could still change before final publication. If you are the EIC or corresponding author of an article and anything needs to be changed, please refer to This portal and submit a PDF file that contains your comments.

Corrected proofs:

Articles that contain the authors' corrections. Final citation details, e.g., volume and/or issue number, and publication year, still need to be added, and the text might change before final publication.

Primary Published:

A "Primary published" article is a manuscript that is accepted for publication, and comments from the author(s) or editor(s) are not applied completely. Any article in this step could be postponed or withdrawn, or retracted from further publication based on the editorial board's decision. "Primary Published" articles do not guarantee their final decision.

Afterward, an article will be finally published. A "Final Published" is published as the final version, and no more changes are acceptable.

Legal Notices:

  • We normally allow two weeks for proofreading. To accelerate the publication of your article, we request that you submit your proof corrections within this time frame. Please, note that we cannot accept any further edits afterward. If the author doesn't return the proof within the specified time, the publisher may either finalize the article with EIC approval or postpone it to a future issue or unpublished from the journal. Therefore, "Uncorrected proofs" may be altered partially/totally (or even rejected) by the editorial board during the subsequent publishing processes and does not mean "Finally published."
  • "Uncorrected Proof" are not valid for presenting in any official usage and CAN NOT be shown as an "Acceptance Letter."
