Conflicts of interest are those interests which are not fully apparent and which may influence the judgment of an author, reviewer or editor — described as the kind of thing that would make a reasonable reader feel misled if it emerged later. They may be personal, commercial, political, academic or financial, and authors, editors, reviewers, publishers and journal owners can all hold them. The webinar covered how to identify them and how to declare them correctly in a footnote.
