Fatty Liver: Patient Guidance in Arabic
Fatty liver is usually silent in its early stages — and that silence is the danger, because it signals metabolic dysfunction that raises the future risk of diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. This Arabic-language guide by Prof. Seyed Moayed Alavian explains the causes, diagnosis, and treatment, and what changes actually reverse the condition.

About this book
One of the liver's critical functions is storing, metabolising, and using fats for the body's nutritional needs. A healthy liver holds roughly 5 grams of pure fat per 100 grams of its weight; once fat exceeds 5% of liver weight, the condition is called fatty liver.
Fatty liver has become common, arising from other diseases or from poor nutritional habits, and fat accumulating in liver cells can lead to inflammation. Certain medications, obesity, physical inactivity, and alcohol all contribute, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is increasingly prevalent as lifestyles change.
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is often silent and asymptomatic in its early stages. However, its presence indicates metabolic dysfunction in the body, significantly increasing the future risks of diabetes, heart disease, and strokes.Prof. Seyed Moayed Alavian — Gastroenterology and liver specialist
